Overview

EPD Hub is an international EPD programme operator. Manufacturers publish third-party verified EPDs under its programme instructions, most of them for construction products, building services equipment and electrical products. The programme's site is epdhub.com.

Every published EPD is also released as a digital dataset in the ILCD+EPD format on the programme's soda4LCA node, epd-hub.lca-data.com, the same format and interface ÖKOBAUDAT uses.

Methodology

How this works
  • Values are global warming potential per declared unit (per kg, m³, m², m or piece), reported per life cycle module: A1-A3 product stage, A4-A5 construction, B1-B7 use, C1-C4 end of life, and D, benefits beyond the system boundary.
  • Datasets follow EN 15804+A2 with the EF 3.1 characterisation. The served number is GWP-fossil; the total, biogenic and land use parts are kept beside it. Where a dataset prints only a total for a module, 57 modules across 10 datasets, we serve that total and flag it.
  • No breakdown by gas is published, so the values cannot be restated in AR6.
  • Each EPD gets one total over the modules it declares, built the same way as for ÖKOBAUDAT: where the EPD prints an A1-A3 figure, the A1, A2 and A3 modules are linked under it as parts. Module D is shown beside the total, never added to it.
  • The reference year is the dataset's own reference year.
  • Every dataset is product or manufacturer specific: it is a verified EPD.

Mixed: the EPD's declared ILCD reference year, which is a data year on Kiwa-EE and most often the year the EPD was published on the other nodes. An EPD that states none is dated off its own publication or entry date.

What we import

  • The node as harvested on 2026-10-02: 2,093 of the 2,100 datasets it lists, covering 2,071 registered EPDs, one factor per module.
  • The declaration owner is shown as the supplier.
  • Each dataset is placed in an open-climate.ai category from EPD Hub's own product category tree.
  • Values declared per tonne or another amount are converted to the declared unit.
  • Not imported: datasets with no GWP result, and the EN 15804 indicators other than GWP.
  • Names are in English, as published.

Restricted. EPD Hub's General Terms (24 March 2026) state that the EPDs are the operator's intellectual property and that a user "may not modify, reverse-engineer, or exploit" them "without express written consent", while the EPDs themselves are available for public download. Holding the values for your own footprint is allowed; publishing, sharing, embedding and modifying them need EPD Hub's written consent, which we are requesting. Until then the values are not shown on the public site. Attribution: "EPD Hub, EPD data from https://epd-hub.lca-data.com". Last verified 2026-10-02.

Any User or Customer may not modify, reverse-engineer, or exploit the intellectual property of the Operator without express written consent.

Limitations

  • Three in four datasets state no location. They are placed in the world as a whole, and marked as an assigned location, not a published one.
  • A few product names carry a year one to three years before the dataset's reference year. They are loaded as published.

Changelog

  • 2026-10-02: node harvest of 2026-10-02 loaded.
