Where 0.7 comes from
Syke prints this factor as a single figure, with no parts to add up and no split by gas.
Reporting this kilogram under the GHG Protocol
Scope 3, category 5 0.7
Paying for your own waste to be treated is category 5, waste generated in operations, counted in the period you send it.
What this number covers
The path of one kilogram of waste from your bin to the treatment site. Every step on it is counted; Syke publishes the route as one number, not step by step.
Treatment
Treating the waste on the route it is sent down
Included0.7Your waste
1 kg sent for treatment, weighed as you hand it over.
= 0.7

From Syke's record to a comparable factor
Syke publishes this factor as one record. Here is each field as printed and what open-climate.ai made of it.
About this factor
From Syke
"The after-use phase is divided to the following four sub-phases:
• C1 Deconstruction demolition
• C2 Transport
• C3 Waste processing
• C4 Disposal
GWP for demolition is given for C1, C3, and C4, C2 is dealt with on the bases of GWP for transportation service.
GWP value for C1 is given for three different building types.
GWP for waste processing is given separately for a few building materials. The data is mainly based on EPDs.
GWP for C4 is based on the emission value for recovered fuels and on the assumption of the share of combustible waste fraction."Source and licence
