Overview

EPD Danmark is the Danish EPD programme, operated by the Danish Technological Institute (Teknologisk Institut). Manufacturers, most of them in Denmark and the other Nordic countries, publish third-party verified EPDs under its rules: concrete, bricks, insulation, windows, timber, steel and building boards. The programme's site is epddanmark.dk.

Its digital datasets are published in the ILCD+EPD format on the soda4LCA node data.epddanmark.dk, the same format and interface ÖKOBAUDAT uses.

Publisher's published terms, checked on 2 Oct 2026

The datasets carry the ILCD licenseType "Free of charge for all users and uses"; no programme or site term restricts reuse. GPI v3.0 section 3.9: digitised EPDs are made available via the database and the ECO Portal; section 5.9 forbids quoting so that the results get another meaning, which constrains misrepresentation, not reuse.

Methodology

How this works
  • Values are global warming potential per declared unit (per kg, m³, m², m or piece), reported per life cycle module: A1-A3 product stage, A4-A5 construction, B1-B7 use, C1-C4 end of life, and D, benefits beyond the system boundary.
  • Most datasets follow EN 15804+A2, with the EF 3.0 or EF 3.1 characterisation, and the served number is GWP-fossil, with the total, biogenic and land use parts kept beside it. About 300 older datasets follow EN 15804+A1 and print a single total, which we serve and flag.
  • No breakdown by gas is published, so the values cannot be restated in AR6.
  • Each EPD gets one total over the modules it declares, built the same way as for ÖKOBAUDAT: cradle to gate for A1-A3, cradle to grave when every A to C module is declared. Every EPD Danmark dataset prints the A1-A3 sum, which is served as published. Module D is shown beside the total, never added to it.
  • The reference year is the dataset's own reference year.
  • Most datasets are product or manufacturer specific; about one in thirteen is an average over several plants or products.

Mixed: the EPD's declared ILCD reference year, which is a data year on Kiwa-EE and most often the year the EPD was published on the other nodes. An EPD that states none is dated off its own publication or entry date.

What we import

  • The node as harvested on 2026-10-02: 1,866 of the 1,965 datasets it lists, one factor per module.
  • The declaration owner is shown as the supplier.
  • Each dataset is placed in an open-climate.ai category, read from the ÖKOBAUDAT product classes about two in three datasets carry, and otherwise from its product name.
  • Values declared per tonne or another amount are converted to the declared unit.
  • Not imported: 99 datasets that are empty shells, with no reference flow and no results, and the EN 15804 indicators other than GWP.
  • Names are published in English, as we show them; most also carry a Danish name.

Open. Every loaded dataset states "Free of charge for all users and uses". EPD Danmark's general programme instructions (version 3.0) make the digital EPDs available through its database and the ECO Portal (section 3.9), and ask that no passage be quoted or left out so that a result takes on another meaning (section 5.9): we keep the values as printed. Attribution: "EPD Danmark (Teknologisk Institut), EPD data from https://data.epddanmark.dk". Last verified 2026-10-02.

Limitations

  • 238 datasets are past their validity date. The node still lists them, so they are loaded; check an EPD's validity date before use.
  • A few product names carry a year one to three years before the dataset's reference year. They are loaded as published.

Changelog

  • 2026-10-05: node harvest of 2026-10-02 loaded.
