An open input-output model of the Canadian economy by CIRAIG, giving the supply chain emissions per Canadian dollar spent on 472 commodities in Canada's 13 provinces and territories.
One per year and method
OpenIO-Canada is a multi-regional input-output model of Canada developed at CIRAIG by Maxime Agez. The model code is on GitHub and its emission factors are published as a dataset on Zenodo.
It is built for spend-based accounting where only the amount paid is known. It is the only spend-based library we serve with a separate factor for each Canadian province and territory, and its commodities follow the 2022 Input-Output Commodity Classification (IOCC).
Standardised file
The publisher's file, re-cut into the schema every library on open-climate.ai shares: one category axis, coded regions, canonical units, AR6 warming potentials, the source row kept beside each value. What is in the file

Open. CIRAIG publishes the emission factors under CC BY 4.0, which allows commercial use and redistribution with attribution, as long as the values remain unchanged and the DOI is cited: "OpenIO-Canada emission factors v2.11 (M. Agez, CIRAIG), CC BY 4.0, DOI 10.5281/zenodo.5553376."
The model code is under CC BY-SA 4.0 and uses EXIOBASE, which is also ShareAlike. Our tier follows CIRAIG's explicit grant on the dataset.
